Who Pays for PreventScripts?
If you're enrolled in a PreventScripts program through your provider, here's how it works:
Your provider covers the cost of the PreventScripts mobile app and sends you a Healthy Living Kit to support your health journey.
The kit includes:
- A Bluetooth-connected device (like a weight scale or blood pressure cuff) – this is on loan as part of your participation in a Remote Monitoring program. Your provider covers the rental cost.
- A water bottle and measuring tape – these are yours to keep as a gift.
- Packaging, shipping, and return shipping – your provider covers all logistics involved in getting the kit to you and returning the device when you're no longer enrolled.
When do I return the Bluetooth device?
The Bluetooth device must be returned if:
- You opt out of the program
- You complete your goals and no longer need monitoring support
- Your provider ends your participation
This is part of the agreement you consent to when enrolling. Your provider will cover the return shipping cost and provide instructions for returning the device.
Will I be billed for anything?
PreventScripts does not bill your insurance and does not have access to your billing or claims information.
However, your provider may bill your insurance for covered services related to your participation, including:
- Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM)
- Self-Measured Blood Pressure (SMBP)
- Education and onboarding
- Monthly data reviews and clinical follow-ups
- Care plan development and lifestyle coaching
These services are supported by standard medical CPT codes. Just like any healthcare service, depending on your insurance plan, you may have a copay, co-insurance, or deductible.
Still have questions about billing?
Please reach out directly to your clinic or insurance provider. They’ll be able to explain your benefits and any costs that might apply. PreventScripts can’t access or answer billing-related questions.
Key Reminders:
- The Bluetooth device is not yours to keep—it must be returned if you leave the program
- This is not a 24/7 emergency service—call 911 if you’re having a medical emergency
- Your health data is securely transmitted and reviewed regularly by your care team
- You can opt out at any time by returning the Bluetooth device
